HURRICANE HELENE 2024

Recently, Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina caught the brunt of a category 4 hurricane named Helene.  Our young band members had never experienced such devastation and destruction.  Seeing the entire Upstate of SC in a blackout, and entire towns in NC washed away was shocking.  Alex and Dani’s house had small debris and briefly lost power.  Jace’s house lost all its shingles, and a huge pecan tree fell in the yard.  But Bryson and Jarrett lost the most - a huge tree fell and split their home in half, making it a total loss.  At the time of this writing, the brothers were living with their aunt Kim, along with Brooke and Sherri.   

I asked about the band’s thoughts on the situation…

  Bryson said, “This is the worst I’ve ever seen the Upstate in my lifetime!”

Jarrett said, “He wished we had been more prepared for the hurricane.”   

Dani and Alex dittoed the comment. 

Jace was mostly frustrated with being without power and water for 11 days straight. 

But all the members of Creek Band were and are concerned about those families who lost loved ones.  Prayers up for the victims of Hurricane Helene!
